Features

Wholesalers often store a lot of information about a given product apart from its description, in dedicated fields with individual features (e.g. color, material, origin country).

How to import features from the warehouse?

The feature management panel allows you to choose which features should be imported to the store and how they should be formatted. It has been divided into three parts:

• importing feature groups from the warehouse

• importing and mapping individual features

• import and mapping property values

Some wholesalers prepare groups of features tailored to specific product groups - then the available templates will be available after expanding the list in the upper part of the panel. Typically, however, introducing features to the store will require organizing the full list provided by the wholesaler.

In the central part of the panel, it is possible to associate selected features with the corresponding features in your store. You can also decide how the integrator should treat features that have not been mapped - they can be added automatically or omitted.

Hint:

Feature mapping allows you to determine which of them are important to you and should be included in the store and which are not.

It also allows you to standardize products in your store - if a given feature is present in several products of a given type, while the others do not contain information about it, you can consider omitting it during mapping.

This can make it easier for customers to compare products to each other.

The lower part of the panel is intended to modify the value of the features. The name of each value specifies which feature it represents ("group>feature>value"), while using the list on the right, you can decide how it should be saved in the store.

Hint:

Feature value mapping is especially useful in situations where the information provided by the warehouse is repeated or very similar.

For example, for the "Color" values:

• ash

• silver

• graphite

• charcoal

• dark grey

• light grey

• chromium

• pewter

and similar all can be mapped as one value in your store: grey.
