Run auto update

After correctly configuring the automatic update and checking the box responsible for its launch, it does not require any action.

However, it is possible to start it manually. This is especially useful when we want to introduce, for example, a minor change of a single attribute (e.g. introducing a new price profile for a selected product category) immediately, but without harnessing the full update to this task.

How do I run an automatic update?

You can select a criterion that will be used to limit the products for the update - it can either be manufacturer or category.

Regardless of the selected option, the panel consists of two parts - the upper one, containing the range of updated parameters, and the lower one, containing the list of manufacturers or the category tree, respectively.

Two fields deserve special attention:

  • Ignore the date of last change - forces all products to be updated without the "last modified" rule.

  • Force new session - stops all background automatic update sessions to give priority to the current session.

Hint:

Auto update works in a different way than the full update (that updates every selected parameter for every selected product) - it updates the product based on the date of its last modification. It compares the date of last modification of product in the wholesaler database to date of last product update in the store and if the product hasn't been changed ever since, it's ommited.

This way it works much faster and places less burden on the customer's store - only those products that have been modified in the wholesaler catalog since the last update in the store are being updated.

To start the update, select the range of updated parameters, select manufacturers or categories to be taken into account in the update, and then confirm the selection with the "Update" button available at the top of the page.
